Principal

It’s an honour to be the principal of this amazing school. We have a brilliant staff who truly do put the interests of the children first. We are fortunate to have a strong community of parents who are so active in the education of their children and helping build these relationships is a great part of my job. Outside of school lots of my time is taken up spending time with my 2 daughters and 4 grandchilden. I also enjoy reading, travel and cooking.

I have been at Chirnside Park for 8 years and I love every minute of it. In my role I am still able to engage with the students on a regular basis.
I have three children, two sons and a daughter and three beautiful grandchildren. I enjoy fishing, eating out with friends, spending time with the family and travelling.

Chirnside Park Primary School is a wonderful place to work. Every staff member is part of a team with similar values and goals and we all take great pride in the job we do.
I am married with two children and have a nine month old granddaughter. I enjoy spending time with my family, eating out, going to the movies and travelling.

Teaching Prep at Chirnside Park Primary is extremely exciting and rewarding. We provide engaging classrooms for all our students to learn. I love the supportive environment we provide between the teachers, parents and students. We work closely together, striving to achieve personal bests. Outside of school I enjoy playing basketball and going to the gym.

I am a Prep Teacher at Chirnside Park Primary School. Prep is a huge growth year and I love watching the new little students mature and develop into independent learners, while learning to read and write. My classroom is full of singing, games and lots of laughs. I love going away in our caravan with my husband and three children and walking our dog Yuki along the beach.

Teaching Prep at Chirnside Park Primary is an extremely rewarding experience. I feel privileged to have a job which puts a smile on my face every day. I love getting to know each child as an individual learner and watching them grow throughout the year. I work with the school community really closely to ensure all of my students are achieving their personal best and that parents are involved in their child’s learning journey. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family and walking my dog Lassy.

Teaching Grade 1/2 is very rewarding particularly seeing the children grow and gain independence. I enjoy making a difference in the lives of the children I teach at CPPS. Out of school I love being with my family and taking my kids to their sports and activities. A good book and the need for holiday is never far away either!

I am passionate about education and really enjoy working with students to help them achieve their goals. I particularly love inspiring students to be curious in their learning and seek out information about interesting and exciting things in the world.

Outside of school, I love spending my time dancing. This has made me keen to integrate music and movement within the classroom, as the students often love the opportunity to learn in creative ways.

I am excited to be a staff member of Chirnside Park Primary School in 2019 and to be a part of this wonderful community of learners.

My name is Selena Poulter and I am a new teacher this year at Chirnside Park Primary School. I have been teaching over thirteen years and love to watch students reach their full potential and strive to achieve their very best. In my spare time, I love to cook, travel and go on beach walks with my husband.

At Chirnside Park I am motivated to create a learning environment full of fun and excitement, where students are encouraged to explore their own learning paths. Watching students’ enjoyment and sense of pride as they achieve success is for me the highlight of teaching. Outside of school I love to travel whenever possible and I hold a love of sport and the outdoors.

I really enjoy teaching the Year 5/6 students as it allows me to work closely with them to further develop their leadership skills. It is extremely satisfying seeing the growth of the Peer Mentors and Leadership team as the year progresses. I enjoy gardening, running and have a great interest in old classic cars.

I really love being a teacher. There is nothing more rewarding than working with Year 5/6 students as they learn, grow, realise and achieve their goals. Outside of school I cherish a good book, gardening and spending time with family.

I really love teaching and supporting the Year 5/6 students to grow as citizens by providing great programs to help them transition smoothly into high school. At home I love working with our animals and gardening on our hobby farm as well as spending time with my family.

I am an avid reader and I love being able to share stories with the kids and read the amazing stories they have created. When I’m not at school I love getting outdoors and going bike riding and walking and I also love spending time with my family and at the beach.

I love the fact that I am sowing the seeds to help students choose a fit, healthy and physically active lifestyle. It is amazing seeing the progression and improvement in students’ skill levels throughout the years. My favorite part of being a Physical Education teacher is watching the students thrive during interschool sports days. I myself am a keen runner who loves competing in track, cross country and road races. I also work in a gym outside of school and love my motorbikes, guitars and all animals.

I really enjoy the students enthusiasm in Music and Performing Arts and how it gives them confidence in other aspects of their learning and lives.  
I run a choir each week and love to hear them sing.  I am a trained tenor and play the guitar and ukelele.

Outside of school, I am a marriage celebrant and I often use my gift of song in the ceremony.

Teaching Music is a wonderfully creative process I enjoy with the children. We love to sing and play a variety of instruments. I create a safe and fun environment for children to take risks in their learning. Teaching Auslan will be an exciting experience for our whole school community. As well as learning sign language this program aims to encourage students to be more empathetic and respectful of others. Outside of school, I love to travel, spend time at the beach and read a good book.

Children’s Art is my passion. Seeing them excited to creatively express themselves brings me great joy. The quality of work produced is a highlight, as is displaying it around the school. I love to help each student understand the importance of art and discover that art is a process, not just a product. When I’m not creating experiences for our students I love to visit Art galleries, go to live theatre and barrack for the Eagles football team.

I really enjoy my role helping children discover a love of reading, seeing their faces when they reach their goals is so rewarding. I am fortunate to be a part of such a committed and caring community all working together to support our students. Outside school I enjoy spending time with my husband and two kids, going on holidays and playing with my dog.

I’m really enjoying working with the Grade 1/2 class this year as a Teacher Aide. I am a mum of 3 daughters who are growing up way too fast, and live close to the Chirnside community. My days are filled with after school sports and outdoor time with my family. I enjoy the beach, camping and jigsaw puzzles.
